Drug-Free Workplace Corporate Training

Corporate Training (Signs and Symptoms for Supervisors)

How confident are you that your supervisors uphold and maintain your policies? Quality training for the people on the front lines is crucial to effectively executing your drug and alcohol testing policy. Supervisors who know how to recognize the specific, observable behaviors of an impaired employee are your first line of defense in creating and maintaining a drug- and alcohol-free workplace.

Our training covers topics such as:

  • Understanding the supervisor’s role in implementing a drug-free workplace policy
  • Recognizing behaviors that indicate impairment
  • How to approach an employee suspected of substance abuse
  • Commonly abused drugs and symptoms of their use
  • How to handle defensive employees or refusal to test
  • And much more!

We work with our clients to determine the best solutions for their needs.

A review of new drug and alcohol testing forms (mandatory use as of August 1, 2001), test protocols, and laboratory procedures will also be covered. Other topics include the role of the Medical Review Officer (MRO) and Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), among others. Participants are encouraged to invite their industry colleagues.

DOT Collector (Urine) Training Course

6-Hour Course that Meets and Exceeds DOT Requirements for Urine Collection

This six-hour course is designed to comply with the new DOT regulations pertaining to collectors. Refresher training for collectors will be required every five years thereafter, and error-correction training is required if the collector makes an error that causes a DOT drug test to be canceled. Mock collections will be performed according to DOT requirements. Each participant must bring at least seven copies of the new HHS Federal five-part Custody and Control Form used by their laboratory, as well as seven corresponding sealed split specimen collection kits. A permanent copy of the collector certificate will be maintained by Transmetron, and the collector will be notified when future refresher training is required.

Who should attend: New and refresher collectors, collector instructors, collector supervisors, occupational health providers, employers of DOT-covered workers, auditors, insurance representatives, laboratory representatives, MROs, SAPs, MRO assistants, and TPAs.
